It actually takes a few months for the dopamine agonists prescribed for movement disorders to have the side effects you describe.

It's not really something to joke about either. If your psyche was stolen in such a way I don't think you'd be laughing.

You can try potassium supplements to relieve Restless Leg Syndrome... it works and there are no side effects. Try it. Unless, of course, you always win while gambling... then by all means, stay on your meds..

I remember back in the frickin day before RLS was coined, August ,1994! One year after a way minor knee injury became way more because of my workaholic ways. 3 days with no sleep or eating made this minor injury in the knee a joint unable to straighten. What did I do? Force it to straight! Leaving it uselessly weak. A year of vigorous exercising ensued with no stretching. Resulting in poor real relief progress and much RLS symtoms but no name for it at that time. Stretching immediately banished those symtoms. 14 years of extreem streching exercises and all is like way, way new, new.

RLS is NO FUN! I was so glad when a diagnois was finally made, I always thought it was just me. Then came Requip, what a wonderful drug it is, I will have to "gamble" with side effects until soemthing else comes along. Sleeping pills DO NOT work for RLS nor or are they strong enough to make you sleep when you have a husband that snores.

Actually, L., a sleeping pill does not seem to be one bit effective for those who suffer from RLS. The only thing that works, it seems, is activity. So that trip around the casino floor might actually be the best therapy... as long as you win, of course.

You know I would be too worried of being out of a house (from gambling) with a dead beat loser that I contracted along with an STD. Sleepless legs don't sound as bad. I am not a doctor but wouldn't a sleeping pill be just as effective as those other medicines at night?

Wow. So I can take these drugs, gamble until I'm bankrupt, sleep with anything that moves and then sue them for millions on account of ruining my life.

Where's the downside?
