For both management and employee, you forgot fantasy sports. There was a study done in the past that showed people did more work when the company allowed 20 minutes to work on their team a week. As upper-management, you can see how the lower sector handles basic management skills especially when they are loosing. What techniques to do they use to try and "get ahead" or do they just give up?! Start a company league! It was also proven that when firings took place those who did best on the company sports team were the least likely to get fired depsite their work performance.

Hmmm I'm thinking instead of the apple substituting an orange. Surely you can tack on another 5-10 minutes of goofing off just by peeling said orange than you could with the apple.

Tip from Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert: If you have an office or cube with your back to the door, open a nice dense spreadsheet, then just close your eyes and sleep. Obviously this won't work if you can't sleep sitting up, but no one will question you sitting motionless and apparently dazed in front of Excel.

My goofing off lately has been reading this blog and fakesteve.blogspot.com ... every Monday morning I read Peter King's MMQB on si.com ... GO EAGLES

Yeah, I am number 10 on that one. I had a job where me and another co-worker took a half an hour off in the morning, an hour lunch and another half an hour off in the afternoon. We were always ahead by a huge margin in work than everyone else in our role.

If you would give your blog the appearance of an excel spreadsheet, it would greatly enhance our ability to goof off undetected.
